5 September 2023 – Borderless Healthcare Group (BHG), a global leader in healthcare technology, media, telecommunication, service and content (TMTSC) has set up a new pet care division, ipet.md, to pioneer the first-of-its-kind pet care knowledge sharing cloud in Thailand. This cloud is designed and supported by renowned vets and pet care experts around the world to activate an unprecedented transformation of clinics and hospitals where local and global veterinarian specialists can work together to provide the best possible treatment plan to local general practitioners and pet parents.

In addition to the clinic and hospital transformation, ipet.md will also be piloting a new “staycation.pet” experience in a luxurious villa in Phuket, where guests can have their staycation with pets including dogs and cats staying at the villa. Wellness program options including yoga, mindfulness workshop, detox cooking class and personalised health and fitness coaching with top experts around the world facilitated by borderless immersive technologies are also available to create an unforgettable pet-inclusive getaway program for guests. Exclusive villas licensed with the proprietary “staycation.pet” resort program will soon be listed in major portals including Airbnb.

Ipet.md will also commence training of pet care concierge at the Borderless Training Centre located at the heart of Bangkok, Thonglor, where trainees, such as vet students and pet lovers, will be trained in adoption of immersive telehealth and wellness technologies in preparation for the new era of technology-enabled home health for pets. An immersive pet wellness suite is also set up at the Borderless Lifestyle Hub in Yaowarat in Bangkok to allow pet parents to book and conduct an immersive telemedicine session with top veterinarians in the world.

“Via ipet.md, we hope to create a holistic multidisciplinary pet care ecosystem by converging well care and sick care for pets to bring specialists, general practitioners, other allied pet care professionals, pet-related business owners, pet lovers, pet parents and pets together,” says Dr Wei Siang Yu, chairman and founder of BHG.

Ipet.md is already in discussion with real estate developers who are interested in the development of pet wellness-centric residential communities and pet staycation-centric resorts.
